How Can My Mini-Skid Handle Loads Greater Than Its Own Weight?

Using the Forkster lifting chassis increases lifting capacity up to 5 times that of a Mini-Skid! The Forkster can turn your Mini-Skid into a MIGHTY-SKID!

During the design process key aspects were closely monitored to achieve the following results:

  • Stability

  • Capacity

  • Weight Transfer

  • Traction

The Power of the Pyramid

The lifting ability of the Forkster is based on one of the strongest and oldest geometric designs - The Pyramid. Attaching the Forkster lengthens the overall wheelbase of the skid steer. By widening the Forkster wheel stance to 88", loads of 2,500 lbs can safely be handled* to the 8' lifting height the Forkster offers.

The unique shape of the Forkster essentially centers the load over its 8-ply tires and High Strength / Low Alloy steel frame. This design keeps the load on the Forkster chassis and minimizes the mini-skid's load.

Moving heavy loads is made easy by the long caster arms provided. This allows for a minimal turning radius, keeping your mini-skid as nimble as ever. Typically, the Forkster can be operated with your mini-skid at half throttle. As with any attachment, traction is limited by the ground condition and grade.

* Always transport loads at the lowest possible lift height to provide maximum stability and safety, and only use the Forkster's extended lift height when picking up or placing loads.
