Press Release: The Forkster Story

Kaltec of Minnesota, Inc. has introduced its Forkster line of skid steer attachments. The patented Forkster is geared towards solving a primary drawback of a standard skid steer loader, its material handling capacity. As the skid steer has evolved into a vital tool for construction businesses of all sizes, more and more uses have been realized. Currently, over 70 attachments are available for specific purposes.

There are more potential "Material-Handling" uses for a skid steer loader than there are "Digging-in-the-Dirt" uses. Most of these have not been discovered yet due to an inherent problem of the skid loader: Lift Height and Lift Capacity.

The Forkster
provides a safe and stable lifting media by providing load-stabilizing wheels on the lifting chassis. This eliminates the tipping danger that traditional lifting methods have presented. The Forkster is designed such that the majority of the load is centered on the unit itself, transferring very little stress back to the loader arms of the skid steer. This allows the operator to safely transport very heavy loads in nearly any terrain.

From the ground up, the Forkster's design is intended to maintain the small footprint, and nimble handling characteristics of the skid steer. The Forkster's arms are adjustable allowing it to fit through small backyard entrances, while still capably handling large pallets or other loads. The 8-ply turf tires caster easily even in rough terrain. The Forkster
offers 15 of articulation both Left and Right, allowing it to maneuver in uneven landscape easily.

Various models are offered to fit the operator's lifting requirements and type of skid steer.

The Forkster
2508 model is geared towards the mini-skid industry. The standard adapter plate accommodates the Toro Dingo, Ditch Witch SK500 and Ramrod Taskmaster. With a lift capacity of 2500 lbs and lift height exceeding 8 feet, it exponentially increases the material handling capability of the mini skid. Imagine being able to bring a full pallet of sod through a small backyard gate!

The Forkster
3316 includes the industry standard Universal Adapter Plate, compatible with nearly every current skid steer model. Lift capacity of 3300 lbs suits this model to heavy pallet stock that only the very largest skid steers can compare to, with stability that none can match. Lift height to the top of the fork is nearly 16 feet, accommodating easy access to the 2nd story of most homes. The optional boom extends to 21 feet, making an easy solution for setting roof trusses.

A dealer chain is currently being constructed across the country. For more specifications and sales information, please see www.forkster.com, or contact the Kaltec of Minnesota Forkster
